My husband and I are building a small 12'x16' greenhouse attached to the south side of our house.
The following pictures will show some of the things we did and may give some help and ideas
to others wanting to build their own greenhouse too. The first thing we did was dig out the trench for the cement . We dug it about 8 inches deep by 8 inches wide and poured cement about 5 inches thick. (The foundation) The next thing we did was lay 2 rows of cinder block on the cement after it had hardened. The next step was to put up 2x4 frame walls on top of the block. We were lucky, our son gave us some large sheets of glass from some sliding glass doors. We used them on the south wall and one sheet on the west wall. My brother-in-law gave me this neat door. We used wood siding panels on the east and west walls where it isn't covered with glass. We are using clear fiberglass panels for the roof. We are not done yet but it's getting there. Still have to put in the gravel for the floor and fill in some gaps between the glass frames and paint the siding. I hope these pictures help others looking for ideas for building their own greenhouse. I can't wait to move my plants into their new home!!!!! Here is an update on my greenhouse now! 2 outside shots of greenhouse
